Up the street, I noticed something exciting was going on. A tarantula was slowly walking across a driveway.
The neighborhood girls were screaming and backing up. The boys were posed with a shovel, ready to kill it.
I couldn't let them!
I said, "let's catch it! It's so cool!"
As I got near, it scurried away under a bush. I was surprised at how fast it moved when it decided to. That means it could have attacked the boys who were close to it, but it didn't.
I caught it and took it home. We watched it and fed it some crickets from the pet store.
And then we let it go.
It just wants to be left alone. I am glad I saved it.
I caught this little spider today. I won't be letting it go.
Yes, it is a black widow.
I found it in our garage. That's why I try to avoid storing shoes in the garage!
