Our deepest fear

Our Greatest Fear —by Marianne Williamson

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

This is the house we made over the weekend. It contains the little Star Wars droids we bought at Disneyland.

We used two cardboard boxes and a long cardboard piece to fold and tape on for a roof.

We painted it using acrylic and tempura paints we already had.

He wanted the house to roll. We used wheels from a toy truck, a dowel and a tea curtain rod taped to the bottom to make it roll.

For extra fun, we put tea lights in it that shined through the windows.

Fun project!

This neck pillow smells like my best friend boy. If I can't cuddle with him while he is at school. I'll cuddle with his neck pillow

We missed these cute little faces when we went to Disneyland.

Our designated dog sitters rescued this Rottweiller a week before we left. Luckily Minnie is super sweet and loved to play with our dogs.

First day of school

Before school:
Before the first day of school, there is always a little apprehension. Even with a new Spongebob backpack and R2D2 lunchbox that makes sounds. We were impressed that he didn't seem very nervous.

After school:
Yay!! He had an "awesome" day!

When I picked him up and asked how his first day was he asked, "Today was my first day?"

He felt so comfortable at his new bigger school that it seemed he had been there longer than one day! (same school, new campus).

Five of his friends transferred also. They played tag on recess. A few new friends played, too.

He said, "I like school! It's super duper fun! Sort of."

I like that he put a qualifier on the end, just in case it changes.

The fire

This pic shows two helicopters picking up water from the reservoir and dumping it on the fire.

It was fascinating to watch! It is amazing those helicopters can scoop up water into giant collapsible bags and dump it out so dangerously close to the mountain.

Airplanes circled around and dropped red flame retardant around the perimeter of the fire.

People in our neighborhood watched for hours. The helicopters and planes worked all day in the near 100 degree weather.

It took about 20 hours to put the fire out. They worked until every bit of smoke was gone.

We are grateful for their work!

We are lucky we live in a country where we have this kind of technology and power and can afford to fly the helicopters and planes all day. Thank you, whoever is paying for all that.
