I can see that most visitors to this site have checked into the category, "Bedtime" and found this measely little tip. I have a book I want to review with you called, "Sleepless In America" by Mary Sheedy Kurchinka, one of my favorite authors! She gives many tips on how to help children calm down enough to go to sleep. I want to get to it, TODAY, but I feel that the first book I am reviewing is most important to successful parenting. If you have questions you can ask in the comment section about your little ones, I will consult my books and give you an answer. I'd love to try to find help!
I have found that it is important to choose my words carefully when I care about the outcome of a situation. The more I care about how it ends up, the more carefully I choose my words. For example, if I say, "Are you ready to put on your pajamas now?" No. Ok, now what? I get a different outcome than if I say, "I want you to put on your pajamas, now." "Please put on your pajamas, now."

Hi! I am starting a blog about my favorite topic: Parenting! Various tips and concepts I read in my favorite books have helped me to develop a more peaceful style of parenting. I have watched my philosophy change from a more harsh style to a softer one. The funny thing is: my style may be softer, but I am more effective as a parent! We have fewer power struggles and fewer ugly shouting matches. My style is less controlling and my son follows my lead much quicker than he used to!
