The stories our cultures tell define our culture.
I thought of this quote when I read about the Boston bombings and manhunt. There was a police chase, shoot outs and bombs being thrown out of car windows. I couldn't believe it. It seemed more like a movie than real life.
Then I remembered the quote: the stories our culture tells define our culture. Our real lives are becoming more like the movies and tv we watch and more like the books we read.
That is why I am against reading any books that portray a life other than the kind of life I want to live. I want peace and happiness.
What stories do you tell about yourself? How do you talk about yourself? Do you believe your stories define you? Could you change your life by changing the way you tell your stories?
